Learning about 3-D shapes has been so much fun! The children brought in different containers that were 3-D Shapes. Many of them decided to put their containers together to create a "thing." They shared with the class telling about the 3-D shapes that they used. Check out the photos page on the left to see more pictures of the "things" they created.

Our room was full of excitement when Mrs. Butler's Class was announced as the winners of the Golden Plate in First Grade for November. We have worked hard to do our best in the lunchroom. We knew it would take real dedication as the other first grade classes are all pretty awesome as well. We decided we really like it in our room and will work hard to win it AGAIN!

The children did a fabulous job in the play today! I was so proud of them! Hoping you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break!

High Touch, High Tech was quite a fun experience today! We explored with magnets, made magnets, and tested magnets. We felt like quite the scientists today!
Check out our pictures on the Photos page on my blog for an assorment of pictures showing all the amazing activities we did with magnets. Thank you again to our Timber Ridge Foundation for funding this fun program!

We had a grand time at our Pumpkin Olympics. Check out all the pictures from the different relays we participated in the Photos section. It was the grand finale to the activities we did with pumpkins and gourds in October.

Here it comes!
The 2011 Pumpkin Olympics will be this Monday, October 31st at 1:00 on the blacktop (where the TR Fall Festival was held). Please make sure your student wears our class t-shirt we hope you will be able to come and cheer from our parent cheering section as we race, dodge, and pass pumpkins! Bring a camp chair and your camera because you won't want to miss the chance to capture these memories!

Wow! What an amazing time we had today at the Teacher of the Year Pep Rally!! My students were so awesome! They were the best cheerleaders as they waved banners and wore their crowns with my picture on the front. (Thanks Mrs. Hill.) They cheered so loudly as I was recognized as the Timber Ridge Teacher of the Year. They sure did make me feel extra special today!!
